Scientific and Publishing Activities

Scientific activity of the Insurance, Banking and Risk Management department is aimed at obtaining new knowledge and its implementation in the educational process, enriching it with information about the latest achievements in financial science, considering opportunities for their implementation in practice, and ensuring the preparation of highly qualified specialists of the new generation..

 Scientific directions of the department are:

– development of insurance and banking systems;

– transformation of the financial services market under digitalization (banking and non-banking financial services market);

– risk management of financial markets and financial institutions.

Basic results on scientific directions of the department are represented by scientific, educational and methodological publications (https://surli.cc/tvujma, https://surli.cc/wqxzxx) and scientific articles of teachers in domestic and foreign scientific periodic journals that belong to international scientometric databases, including​ Scopus and Web of Science.

The department’s scientific results are confirmed by the students’ participation in international and Ukrainian competitions. During the department’s operational period, students won over 40 prizes in Olympiads and in competitions of scientific student works, as well as 8 prizes in competitions, case championships, and Olympiads sponsored by employers and stakeholders (https://surli.cc/uxcaof).

The Department of Insurance, Banking, and Risk Management prepares specialists with higher qualifications within postgraduate and doctoral educational programs. During the department’s operational period, 4 doctoral dissertations and 18 Ph.D. dissertations on finance, banking and insurance were defended.

Scientific activity of the department is also represented by the organization and conducting of scientific events, namely:

  • international scientific and practical conference “December readings”;
  • student workshops;
  • round tables;
  • panel discussions, in particular within the international forum “Economy. Finance. Business. Management”.
