RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC OUTPUT
The Department conducts fundamental scientific research across several key domains: The reform of the budgetary system and strategies for strengthening public finance. The theoretical substantiation of monetary policy and its impact on the stability of the national currency. Development trends in the monetary and currency systems of foreign countries, among others.
The research activity undertaken by the faculty, doctoral candidates, postgraduate students, and undergraduates plays a vital role in several aspects: Making the latest advancements in contemporary financial science accessible to students. Cultivating students’ essential skills in independent analytical work.
The Department of Finance has successfully trained over 120 highly qualified specialists – specifically, Doctors and Candidates of Economic Sciences (equivalent to PhDs and DScs).
The scientific position of the Department of Finance on current issues concerning the development of the fiscal and budgetary system is actively represented by its faculty members at All-Ukrainian and International scientific-practical conferences, symposiums, and round tables.
Since 2003, the Department of Finance has hosted an annual international scientific and practical conference. This event focuses on topical issues in the contemporary development of the global financial system and the identification of strategic directions for the establishment and modernisation of Ukraine’s financial architecture.
This crucial work involves a broad network of scholars and practitioners representing all regions of Ukraine, as well as numerous foreign countries, including: the USA, Norway, Germany, France, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Lithuania, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan, among others.
A distinguishing feature of the annual conference is the inclusion of dedicated student sections, which are actively attended by undergraduates from universities across Ukraine and abroad. Following these sessions, a collection of student articles is formally published.
The most gifted young individuals within the Department of Finance are integrated into specialized student research groups, which currently include:

- “Financial Analytics and Company Valuation”
- “Reforming the Tax System of Ukraine”

Наукову позицію кафедри фінансів щодо актуальних питань розвитку фінансово-бюджетної системи представляють її викладачі на Всеукраїнських та Міжнародних науково-практичних конференціях, симпозіумах, круглих столах. З 2003 року під егідою кафедри фінансів проводиться щорічна міжнародна науково-практична конференція з актуальних питань сучасного розвитку світової фінансової системи та визначення напрямків розбудови і модернізації фінансової системи України. До цієї роботи залучені вчені та практики, що представляють всі регіони України, а також зарубіжні країни (США, Норвегія, Німеччина, Франція, Швеція, Азербайджан, Естонія, Литва, Грузія, Білорусь, Молдова, Казахстан, Росія, Туркменістан та ін.).
Особливістю конференції є проведення в її межах студентських секцій, в яких приймають участь студенти з вишів України та зарубіжжя, за результатами проведення яких публікується збірник студентських статей.
Найбільш обдарована молодь кафедри фінансів об’єднується у наукових гуртках «Фінансова безпека України в умовах глобалізації», «Фінансова аналітика, оцінка вартості компанії», «Реформування податкової системи України».
