International Activities

The Department of Economic Theory, Macro- and Microeconomics actively develops international educational and research cooperation within the framework of the University’s strategic partnerships. Faculty members and students participate in Erasmus+ programs, academic exchanges, joint research projects, and educational initiatives with partner universities worldwide.

International Academic Consulting and Cooperation

Prof. Ihnatiuk A. and Prof. Hrazhevska N. served as international supervisors for PhD candidates at the Karaganda Economic University (Republic of Kazakhstan) under the Cooperation Agreement between Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which provides for joint implementation of scientific and educational programs for PhD students and consulting supervision (2021).

Assoc. Prof. Selezniova R. was an invited lecturer at Kazakhstani universities — Turan-Astana University (Nur-Sultan, 2021) and Buketov Karaganda University (Karaganda, 2021).

In 2023, an Addendum to the Cooperation Agreement between the University of Florence (Italy) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was signed (coordinator – Assoc. Prof. Kseniia Lopukh).

International Grant Activity

         Dr. of Economics, Prof. Volodymyr Virchenko coordinated a grant project funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine titled “Analysis of Media Discourse on the Prevention of Violence against Women in the Context of Ukraine’s Ratification of the Istanbul Convention.”

He also led the project “Research of Needs and Provision of Services to Long-Term Psychiatric Patients in the Context of Health Care Reform in Ukraine” (registration No. SG54193).

Prof. Virchenko headed another project — “Ensuring Strategic Sustainability and Development of the Interdisciplinary Analytical Center for Socio-Economic Wellbeing and Mental Health in Conditions of Uncertainty”, supported by the International Renaissance Foundation and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine (registration No. SG54711). A participant of the project was PhD student V. Selezniova.

Prof. Virchenko also signed a cooperation agreement with King’s College London (UK) on the research topic “Mental Health and Wellbeing during the COVID-19.”

International Grant Applications (2023–2024)

The Department participated in the preparation of international grant applications within the following projects:

         Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module – “EU Horizontal Policies: Lessons for Ukraine” (Prof. A. Khodzhaian, Prof. V. Virchenko, Assoc. Prof. K. Lopukh);

         The Swedish Institute Ukraine Cooperation Programme, in partnership with Södertörn University (Sweden) – “Recovery of the Ukrainian Economy by Enhancing the Industry-Specific Innovation Ecosystem: Promoting Blockchain and Virtual Assets as a Creative Industry” (Prof. A. Khodzhaian, Prof. S. Slukhai, Assoc. Prof. K. Lopukh);

         “Critically untrash: Upcycle Challenge as Self-Reflective Practice for Sustainability” — developed and submitted within the framework of the international partnership of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; the main applicant country – Turkey (Asst. A. Zavazhenko);

         COST Project – “Network of Archives for European Heritage in Economic Practices and Ideas”, main applicant – France (Assoc. Prof. K. Lopukh).

         The Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies (Sweden) – project “Digitalization for Economic Change: Using Blockchain to Fight Corruption in Ukraine” (application No. 25-PR1-0043; participants – Prof. A. Khodzhaian, Assoc. Prof. K. Lopukh).

         Horizon Europe Programme – project “Tackling Polycrisis through Shorter Working Time (POLYTIME)” (participants – Assoc. Prof. I. Sokolovska, Asst. A. Zavazhenko).

         John Templeton Foundation – project “Digitalization for Freedom and Prosperity: Using Blockchain to Fight Corruption in Ukraine.”

Participation as a co-applicant in the 4th EELISA Joint Call Workshop – project “Critically untrash: Upcycle Challenge as Self-Reflective Practice for Sustainability” held at Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) (online; Asst. A. Zavazhenko).
