Research and Publication Activities

The Department of Accounting and Audit conducts extensive research within the framework of the comprehensive research program of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv: “Modernization of Ukraine’s Social Development amidst Global Transformations.” Under this program, the Department’s faculty carries out specialized research on the departmental project (Ref. No. 22KF040-02): “Modernization of the System of Accounting, Analysis, Taxation, and Control for Corporate and Public Sector Entities in Ukraine” (Principal Investigator: Bohdan Zasadnyі, Doctor in Economics, Professor).

The core research areas of the Department include:

• Advancing theoretical, organizational, and methodological frameworks for accounting and reporting within the corporate and public sectors;
• Analytical support systems for corporate management and decision-making;
• Organization and methodology of risk-based control in the context of sustainable development;
• External and internal audit systems for business entities;
• Implementation of advanced information technologies and systems for the generation and processing of accounting and analytical data for strategic management;
• Organizational and methodological aspects of non-financial reporting in the context of sustainable development (ESG reporting).

The high caliber of the Department’s research is recognized internationally. All faculty members regularly publish their findings in peer-reviewed international journals, present at global academic conferences abroad, and participate in international research fellowships and professional development programs.

The Department of Accounting and Audit actively involves students in research through the Student Research Circle, which focuses on current issues in accounting, taxation, analysis, control, and auditing, under the academic supervision of Olha Bondarenko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor.

Each year, the Department hosts an annual session within the framework of the “Shevchenkivska Vesna” (Shevchenko Spring) International Scientific and Practical Conference for undergraduate, graduate, and young researchers, held at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
