International Cooperation

 

One of the strategic priorities of the Department’s activities is the advancement of international research engagement. This includes international fellowships, participation in global conferences and seminars, involvement in the World Bank Centre for Financial and Sustainability Reporting Reform (CFRR) projects, and the publication of research articles in journals indexed in leading international scientometric databases.

The Department of Accounting and Audit maintains robust collaboration with international stakeholders and corporate partners. Under the framework of Memoranda of Understanding with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and “Big Four” auditing firms (PwC, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG), a series of initiatives are implemented. These activities aim to enhance the theoretical and practical competencies of faculty, doctoral candidates, and students, while integrating advanced accounting information systems and reporting technologies into the educational process.

 

Through the partnership between the Department of Accounting and Audit and the ACCA, the Educational (professionaly oriented) program “Accounting and Taxation” (Bachelor’s Level)  has received official accreditation. This grants graduates automatic exemptions for the following ACCA qualification exams:

• BT (Business and Technology)
• FA (Financial Accounting)
• MA (Management Accounting)
• LW (Corporate and Business Law)

Faculty members continuously refine the professional training of accountants and auditors by leveraging international teaching experience and addressing the evolving needs of modern business in Ukraine. Our academic staff regularly undergo international professional development and internships, specifically within the World Bank Group (WBG) CFRR “Education for Potential” project for accounting and auditing educators:

• Regional program “Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership (STAREP)”;
• Regional and country-level program “Public Sector Accounting and Reporting (PULSAR)”;
• World Bank program “IFRS for SMEs” (Austria);
• Certified course TERP10 SAP ERP “Business Process Integration with SAP ERP 6.0”;
• Research and pedagogical internship “Innovative Educational Technologies: European Experience and its Application in Economics and Management” (Poland);
• Research and pedagogical internship “Modern economic research: theory, methodology, strategy” at Jan Kochanowski University (Poland);
• “Current Issues of Accounting under IFRS. Consolidation of Financial Statements” program by EY;
• Collaboration with the EU/UNDP within the project “Home Owners of Ukraine for Sustainable Energy Solutions (HOUSES)”.

 

Since 2014, representatives of the Department have been actively involved in World Bank Group CFRR initiatives, including the STAREP and PULSAR programs, ministerial conferences, roundtables, and workshops for leading universities in the Eastern Partnership countries specialized in accounting and auditing education.

The Department actively engages undergraduate and postgraduate students in international research and collaborative activities, including:

• Internships for students at leading international auditing firms, including those founded by the Department’s alumni;
• Comprehensive faculty support for student participation in international research-to-practice conferences;
• Guidance on academic mobility programs (Erasmus+ and others), international research projects, and grant opportunities.
