International Relations
The Department has long-standing close scientific ties with many foreign universities, including:
- Munich University, Schmalkalden University (Germany).
- University of Helsinki (Finland).
- Stockholm University and Umeå University (Sweden).
- Northumbria University, Newcastle (Great Britain).
- Sunderland University (Great Britain).
- Macedonian and Aristotle Universities of Thessaloniki (Greece).
- Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic).
- Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland).
- Lodz University of Technology (Poland).
- University of Debrecen (Hungary).
- Vilnius University (Lithuania).
- Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development of Turkmenistan (Ashgabat, Turkmenistan), etc.
Many lecturers and students have completed internships and studies at these universities, and many lecturers from foreign universities have given lectures to students of the Faculty of Economics at the Department’s invitation. These ties are mainly generated by the Department of Economic Cybernetics’ implementation of two international Tempus-Tacis projects.
In 2012, the Department of Economic Cybernetics won a grant to implement the project 530534-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-UK-TEMPUS-SMGR «Improving the Efficiency of Student Services» (IMPRESS).

Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics, A.V. Stavytskyi is a National Expert on Higher Education Reform within the framework of the Bologna Process (Erasmus office & HERE team), and the Editor of the journal Ekonomika (Vilnius University). International mobility programs for teaching and research staff also enhance the Department’s prestige.
Guest professors and their activities:
- Josef Windsperger, Professor at the University of Vienna, Austria, President of the Network of Universities in Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe on PhD programs (CESEENet), delivered an open lecture for students, postgraduate students, and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics on the topic: «Network of Universities in Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe on PhD Programs: Prospects for Cooperation» on 16.02.2017.
- Alfredo Moscardini, Professor at Northumbria University, Great Britain, held a coordination meeting within the framework of the British Council project in Ukraine, Creative Spark, and also gave lectures to students of the Faculty of Economics (May 11, 2019, to November 9, 2019).
- Archil Chochia, Ph.D., researcher at TalTech Law School, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, conducted a lecture for postgraduate students and lecturers on the nuances of publication in international ranking publications (14.11.19), as part of joint work on project proposals, support for partnerships, and intensification of publishing activity in their Scopus edition.
- Eugen Popescu, Associate Professor at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania, taught a course of lectures (November 12, 2017 -November 20, 2017) as part of the Erasmus+ mobility program.
- Daniel Němec, Associate Professor at Brno University (Czech Republic), conducted a methodological seminar on the use of DSGE models (4.03.2020-4.04.2020) under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. Planned meetings with students did not take place due to the declaration of lockdown in the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
The Department initiates the signing of Erasmus Agreements and Cooperation Agreements with partners from Turkey and Romania for the University. It hosts guest professors from partner universities across Europe every year.
Associate Professor of the Department G.O. Kharlamova is a participant in international projects:
- Tempus project “Improving the Efficiency of Student Services” (2013/2014).
- “British Council’s Higher Education Leadership Development Programme” (2016-2018).
- Creative Spark program of the British Council (Wider Europe) (2019/2021).
- She is an honorary expert researcher at the Research Center for Political Science, International Relations, and European Studies, a research unit within the Department of International Relations, Political Science, and European Studies at Lucian Blaga University, Sibiu, Romania.
The Department maintains close ties with specialists in economic cybernetics in Ukraine and CIS countries, including the Departments of Economic Cybernetics at:

- Dnipropetrovsk National University.
- Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
