Academic Council

The Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics is a collegial governing body of the faculty. The membership of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics was approved by the order of the dean of the faculty No. 040/117 dated June 20, 2025, for a 5-year term.

The chair of the Academic Council is the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Honored Economist of Ukraine Anzhela Ignatyuk.

The Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics consists of:

  • Dean of the faculty and her deputies,
  • Academic secretary,
  • Heads of departments,
  • Chair of the faculty’s trade union committee,
  • Chair of the faculty’s student trade union committee, or deputy chair of the trade union committee for student affairs,
  • Chair of the student parliament of the faculty,
  • Chair of the faculty’s teaching and methodology committee,
  • Elected representatives of the Faculty of Economics Labour Conference:
  • Academic and teaching members – 1
  • Research members – 1
  • Other faculty members – 1
  • Postgraduate and doctoral students, trainees, and assistant interns – 1.

The Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics is responsible for:

  • Determining the directions of educational, methodological, research, educational work, and international cooperation at the faculty,
  • Electing associate professors and assistants to departments,
  • Providing recommendations to the Academic Council of the University regarding the election of professors and the awarding of academic titles of professor, associate professor, and senior researcher,
  • Approval educational programs and curricula for training specialists,
  • Resolving issues related to the organization of educational, research, and educational work at the faculty, as well as international cooperation,
  • Approval research topics for research and teaching staff,
  • Approval thesis topics and individual plans for postgraduate and doctoral students,
  • Certification of postgraduate and doctoral students,
  • Approval to form a one-time specialized council for PhD thesis defenses,
  • Addressing other issues within the authority of the Academic Council of the faculty.

The quantitative and qualitative membership of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics has been approved in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” (dated July 1, 2014, No. 1556-VII) and the Charter of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated November 22, 2022, No. 1061, new edition).
