My name is Caterina Cozzoli, and I come from Trani. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation, specializing in English and Russian language and culture. I always had a passion for foreign languages and for eastern countries. During my study path I found a successful way to match this passion with the interest in marketing and business abroad. Enrolling to the Master’s degree in Global Politics and International Relations in Macerata, I had the chance to study International Politics affair and spend one year and a half in Kyiv, where I obtained also a double degree in Business Administration at Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv. The path at Taras Shevchenko lasted more for me and one of my colleagues since Taras Shevchenko and Macerata University have equivalent programs, so I spent one semester more in Kyiv and passed there some additional exams. Don’t be afraid to candidate for this opportunity because of language or money: Kyiv is a very cheap city compared to other European capital cities and quite everyone speaks English. And if you want to grapple with Russian/Ukrainian language, Taras Shevchenko provides also the possibility to attend some language Courses in the majestic Red building.
Kyiv is a very beautiful and incredible city, where you can never feel alone. There is a plenty of places to visit and activities to do. There are different communities such as Couchsurfing Kyiv and Expats in Kyiv in which you can find friends and experience new adventure, beautiful days, journeys and excursions. In addition, at Taras Shevchenko the community of students use to organize events and parties that you can enjoy. Being there I visited also Odessa and Lviv many times. I really miss Kyiv and the amazing experiences I had there.
The Double degree program at Taras Shevchenko University represented for me and for my career path a crucial opportunity. There, Professors trained me to a business and marketing-oriented mind, and continue even now to support us, with helpfulness affection and kindness. As soon as I completed my studies, I found a work in the marketing department for Angelini Pharma, first as Marketing Trainee, then as Product Manager Assistant. For sure, the double degree abroad gave additional value to my resume and gave me the opportunity to go one step further over other candidates. Kyiv and Taras Shevchenko is one of the steps of my life that I will do again, a thousand times.
