GUEST LECTURE FROM CORY SMITH, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND

On April 7, within the partnership agreement with the University of Maryland (AREC), Cory Smith, assistant professor of economics, held a guest lecture on the course “Environmental Economics” for students of Bachelor’s program in Economics.

During an hour the lecturer shared the results of his study and experience on the topic “Land Concentration and Long-run Development in the Frontier United States”. Students took an active part in the discussed research methods and asked additional questions about the practical application of the findings.

Program guarantor Professor Olena Bazhenova emphasized the importance of such lectures for students. The students and the tutor of the course, Alona Tiurina, associate professor of the Department of Environmental Management and Entrepreneurship, appreciated Professor Cory Smith for his time and exciting research.
