Associate professor of the Department of economic theory, macro- and microeconomics gave lectures at the WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property

Associate professor of the Department of economic theory, macro- and microeconomics Volodymyr Virchenko gave lectures at the international Summer School on Intellectual Property that was held from July 16 to 27, 2018. Summer School on Intellectual Property was offered jointly by the WIPO, the State Finance Institution for Innovations under the Summer School on Intellectual Property Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and Scientific and Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Associate professor Volodymyr Virchenko gave three lectures on economics of intellectual property at the WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property. Lectures conducted at WIPO Summer School dealt with such issues as: nature and mechanism of IP commercialization; influence of intellectual assets on corporate competitive advantages at the modern globalized markets; economic contribution of IP-intensive industries to global economy; nature of IP management and types of IP strategies; general valuation approaches and common methods of IP valuation; peculiarities of copyright licensing and commercialization.

Participants of the Summer School on Intellectual Property took an active part in the discussion of organizational and financial aspects of IP commercialization that enabling them to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of economics of intellectual property and improve their communication skills.
